Deleuze sobre su encuentro con Francis Bacon:
“One senses in him a power and violence, but also a very great charm. After he is seated for an hour or so, he contorts himself in every direction, as if he were himself a Bacon painting....When I met Bacon, he said that he dreamed of painting a wave, but dared not believe in the success of such a venture. It is a lesson of the painter, a great painter who comes to say to himself, ‘It would be nice if I could trap a little wave...’ It’s very Proustian; or Cézannian: ‘Ah! If only I could manage to paint a little apple!’”
